The webmasters of KaraokeTulsa.com are Paul and Sheri. We don't claim to be 'professional' karaoke singers or anything of the sort. We simply just LOVE to sing, enjoy going out with our friends, and were bummed that there was no place online (or elsewhere) where we could get a list of karaoke nights that was current and updated often. Urban Tulsa Magazine was the closest we could find, but they were VERY incomplete, and sometimes simply wrong. So we decided to do our own list, and we decided to put it online for our friends. Everybody loved it, so we made it public.

We make ZERO money at this site - as a matter of fact, it costs us monthly to keep it going. The display ads you see at the bottom of some pages are FREE OF CHARGE to the KJ's and clubs that send us business cards. There is no paid advertising ANYWHERE on the site, and neither the clubs nor the KJs pay us to list or review their karaoke. It's not a matter of money - we just want to promote the karaoke community here in the Tulsa area and try to get more people going to the shows. The more karaoke succeeds in Tulsa, the more places will start hosting it, and the more opportunities we will have to go sing!

As far as our background goes - Paul has been playing and singing in bands since his teens - 25 years now. He's played guitar, keyboards, bass, mandolin, and a little bit of fiddle. He's sang lead vocals for most of his bands, although he really enjoys singing harmony vocals as well. He's been in contemporary rock bands (TIPPERGORE), country bands (THE TRAIL), hair-metal bands (RAMPAGE), classic rock (DIRTY LAUNDRY), Beatle tribute (NOWHERE BAND), and even played with a bluegrass band or two. He is a songwriter - having written nearly 200 songs in every genre, is very proficient at music and sound recording and production, using ProTools and other recording software, and has an almost encyclopedic memory for lyrics and melody of very obscure music, yet can't usually remember what year he was born or what movie he saw last night. Currently he plays classic rock guitar (Eagles, Beatles, Doobie Brothers, etc) occasionally with a band in Glenpool OK that call themselves ROCK SOUP, but is casually looking to assemble a contemporary country band.

Sheri has been singing most of her life, but only in public for the past 4 years. She joined one of Paul's bands where she sang backup and played some keyboard, and took lead vocals on songs such as HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT, DREAMS, and I HATE MYSELF FOR LOVING YOU, always getting the best applause of the night. She has an amazing ear for harmony and pitch. Today Sheri primarily sings current country, and most of those who hear her sing think that she is one of the best female singers in the state.

Along with Paul and Sheri, the site has a group of regular contributors that have been nicknamed THE KARAOKE MAFIA. They are all very experienced karaoke singers, and the site simply would not exist without them and their constant input! THANK YOU Curt, Tammy, Robert, and Kenneth! We love you guys!
